Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of dental procedures and terminology, with experience in both general and pediatric dentistry. This role involves assisting the dentist during procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the clinic. A commitment to patient care and infection control is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during examinations and treatment procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment in accordance with aseptic techniques.
• Take X-rays as needed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Open Dental, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Conduct preliminary assessments, including taking vital signs and documenting medical history.
• Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures including prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry tasks.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to infection control protocols.
• Support the dental receptionist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow when necessary.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred.
• Proficiency in EMR systems such as Open Dental.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical documentation practices.
• Ability to perform medical imaging and operate a 3D scanner.
• Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Certification in dental assisting is required; CPR certification is also beneficial.

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
