This is an exciting time to join our organisation as we progress significant infrastructure developments across the country, while also leaning into the Government's challenge to improve the fiscal sustainability of the public sector.

As a Deputy Director, you will be a strong people leader. You will naturally collaborate with other parts of finance, supporting the cross-functional understanding of the wider organisation's financial picture, and influencing organisational thinking for maximum efficiency and effectiveness. You will also play a key role in championing excellent financial resource management and will be an important coach and mentor to the Business Partners and Analysts around you.

You will be the trusted adviser who is fully embedded in the Infrastructure and Digital Assets (IDA) leadership team, owning the critical relationship between Finance and IDA. You'll play a lead part in supporting IDA's financial performance and strategic direction - ensuring decisions are financially sound, sustainable, and aligned with our broader strategic objectives. You will represent Finance at governance and portfolio discussions to support quality investment decision making.

You'll lead a small finance team within the wider finance function to offer timely and influential insights, reporting, and financial guidance to help drive success. Your focus will include supporting the team to manage their operating and capital budgets effectively, identifying risks early, and spotting opportunities for cost savings and smarter investment.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Experience working with senior executives, and an ability to influence at leadership and governance tables.
• Established Leadership experience, excellent relationship management skills and demonstrated ability to build trust, confidence and influence. This is a people-focused role. You will be proactive and curious to explore the "what", the "so what", and the "what now".
• Strong experience looking after large and complex infrastructure (Digital and Property) portfolios, including the oversight of both operating and capital budgets.
• Strong experience writing, supporting and reviewing investment propositions / business cases and a strong understanding of investment management frameworks.
• A genuine desire to understand and look at things from different angles in order to improve practice.
• Experience mentoring, coaching and supporting finance peers.

Utu a-tau | Salary

The mid point of the salary range is $208,205 per annum and the full range (85%-120%) is $176,975 - $249,846 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
