Design to Production Coordinator (High-End Kitchens)
Kontour Design is a high-end kitchen design, manufacture and supply company based in Ennis. We have a strong, experienced design team and we’re busy with new and returning customers. We’re now looking for a skilled person to join the team and bridge the gap between design and the workshop—a role that is vital to keeping projects flowing smoothly from sign-off through to manufacture and installation.
This is a hands-on coordination role for someone who understands kitchens, technical drawings, suppliers, and real-world site conditions—and who enjoys problem-solving and keeping things moving.
What the Role Involves (Key Responsibilities)
You’ll work closely with our designers, suppliers, workshop team and site teams to ensure every job is fully ready for manufacture and installation.
Design-to-Production Coordination
- Take finalised kitchen designs and interpret them accurately for manufacture.
- Review plans for completeness and practicality (sizes, clearances, fillers, scribes, services, appliance specs, etc.).
- Prepare/confirm manufacturing-ready information for the workshop team.
Surveying & Site Measurements
- Arrange and coordinate site measures at the right project stages.
- Check measurements, identify risks early (walls out of square, floor levels, services conflicts, restricted access).
- Update layouts where required to suit real site conditions.
Ordering & Supplier Coordination
- Order the correct elements from suppliers (doors, worktops, appliances, internals, ironmongery, accessories, etc.).
- Confirm lead times, specifications, finishes, and delivery dates.
- Track any shortages, damages, or changes and keep the team informed.
Workshop & Installation Support
- Issue clear work instructions to the workshop team and support them if questions arise.
- Coordinate with site teams if issues occur during install (late changes, site delays, unexpected obstacles).
- Troubleshoot and problem-solve to keep quality high and delays minimal.
Planning & Workflow
- Work with the design team to ensure there is a steady pipeline of jobs being finalised and ready for manufacture.
- Help keep a clear “what’s ready / what’s next / what’s blocked” view across the office and workshop.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Strong understanding of kitchen manufacture / fit-out and how designs translate into real builds.
- Ability to read and work from kitchen drawings / technical plans and spot issues before they become problems.
- Organised, accurate, and able to manage multiple projects at once.
- Confident communicator—comfortable dealing with designers, suppliers, workshop staff and site personnel.
- Practical problem-solver with a calm, solutions-first approach.
Desirable
- Experience with kitchen CAD software (e.g., Winner, Compusoft, AutoCAD, SketchUp or similar).
- Experience in joinery/cabinetmaking environments or kitchen installation.
- Familiarity with ordering processes, BOMs/cut lists, and supplier coordination.
What You’ll Get
- A key role in a respected, quality-driven company working on high-end projects.
- A supportive team environment with strong design and workshop capability.
- Variety and responsibility—no two projects are the same.
- Competitive pay based on experience
