Position Overview
Novelty Lights is seeking a hands-on Marketing Manager who can both own day-to-day marketing execution and help shape marketing strategy. This role is ideal for an experienced marketer who enjoys building end-to-end campaigns, from concept and design to launch, optimization, and results — and who thrives in a seasonal, fast-paced ecommerce environment.
This position is responsible for executing year-round marketing initiatives, with heavy focus during our peak holiday season, while also supporting growth in commercial décor, professional installation, and architectural lighting categories.
You will actively create, manage, and optimize marketing campaigns across email, digital advertising, website, social, and catalogs, while collaborating closely with Sales, Operations, and Customer Service. You may mentor or guide junior team members, while remaining deeply involved in the work yourself.

Compensation & Incentives
Base Salary Range:
$75,000 – $90,000 annually, depending on experience, skill depth, and execution capability.
This salary range reflects the expected compensation for this role in Denver, Colorado. Actual pay within this range will be determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the position.
Retirement Benefit:
Eligible for participation in Novelty Lights’ Simplified Employee Pension (SEP) plan beginning in the third year of employment, in accordance with plan guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
1) Brand & Creative Execution
- Execute the Novelty Lights brand across email, website, social, paid ads, and print/digital catalogs.
- Personally create or manage the creation of graphic designs, layouts, and campaign visuals (email templates, promotional graphics, social posts, banners, catalogs).
- Maintain brand consistency while adapting creative for multiple audiences:
- DIY homeowners
- Professional installers & wholesalers
- Commercial décor buyers
- Holiday lighting businesses and trainees
- Strengthen trust signals through clear messaging around product quality, warranty, and customer support.
2) Email Marketing & Lifecycle Ownership
- Build, manage, and optimize email campaigns including promotions, seasonal campaigns, automations, and newsletters.
- Own the email calendar, segmentation approach, and performance optimization.
- Design and build emails within HubSpot (or similar tools), including layout, imagery, copy, and CTAs.
- Monitor and improve email performance across open rates, CTR, revenue contribution, and customer retention.
3) Campaign Planning & Execution (Seasonal Focus)
- Plan and execute full-funnel marketing campaigns for key seasonal moments (especially August–December).
- Create and manage campaign assets including:
- Email series
- Website banners and landing pages
- Paid ad creative
- Social content
- Digital and print catalogs
- Coordinate timelines and execution with Sales, Operations, and Customer Service to ensure smooth launches and peak-season readiness.
4) Ecommerce & Website Optimization
- Improve ecommerce performance through:
- Landing page creation and optimization
- Product page merchandising
- Conversion rate optimization (CRO)
- SEO structure and on-page improvements
- Partner with developers while owning marketing priorities and requirements.
- Use GA4, A/B testing, heatmaps, and customer insights to guide decisions.
5) Paid Media & Growth Marketing
- Manage paid media execution across Google Search/Shopping, Meta, and other platforms as appropriate.
- Collaborate on ad creative, messaging, and offer development.
- Monitor and optimize performance metrics such as ROAS, CAC, and MER.
6) Content & Social Media
- Create and manage content across:
- Website and blog
- Social media
- Educational and video content
- Help position Novelty Lights as a trusted authority in holiday décor and professional installation.
- Balance educational, inspirational, and conversion-focused content.
7) Product Marketing & Launch Support
- Support new product launches with messaging, campaign assets, and channel execution.
- Create supporting materials for Sales and Customer Service (one-pagers, visuals, email templates).
- Ensure launches are executed consistently across marketing channels.
8) Collaboration & Team Contribution
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Operations, Customer Service, and Product teams.
- Mentor or support junior marketing team members as needed.
- Model a collaborative, hands-on approach — focused on execution, accountability, and shared success.
Required Qualifications
- 5–8+ years of marketing experience with hands-on execution responsibility
- Strong experience in email marketing, campaign creation, and creative execution
- Proven ecommerce or DTC marketing experience with measurable results
- Comfortable working both strategically and tactically
- Strong analytical and performance-driven mindset
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in seasonal products, home improvement, lighting, or consumer goods
- B2B + B2C ecommerce experience
- Familiarity with Amazon marketing
- Experience creating or managing catalogs or digital lookbooks
- Comfortable operating in high-intensity peak seasons
