The Role

Lumenor Consulting Group is seeking a Director of Transportation Planning who thrives on collaborating with clients and growing a team of enthusiastic professionals. As a key member of our team, you will drive the success of transportation planning projects from start to finish. From business development and client management to resource allocation and project delivery, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our planning team's growth and success. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated strategic thinker with a passion for transportation planning and a track record of successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow a team of transportation planners with a focus on fostering company culture, promoting professional growth, and overseeing recruitment.
  • Actively engage on transportation planning projects as a subject matter expert, project manager or task lead.
  • Lead department’s business development and marketing activities to grow the pipeline of opportunities.
  • Lead proposal development providing technical writing and strategic guidance.
  • Oversee operational aspects of the department including department budgets, resourcing, profitability, backlog, and project invoicing / aging.
  • Develop strategic growth plans for the department and contribute to company-wide strategic plans.
  • Initiate and maintain client relationships with a strong focus on client satisfaction.
  • Provide quality oversight for the team ensuring high-quality project deliverables for the client.
  • Provide insight to industry best practices for utilizing transportation planning data tools, processes, and trends.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, or related field.
  • 12+ years related experience as a Transportation Planner including experience as a Project/Task Manager for transportation planning projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in Business Development.
  • Thorough understanding of the federal transportation planning and project development process.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering multi-modal transportation planning with DOT's, transit agencies, and municipalities.
  • American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) or Professional Transportation Planner (PTP) certification is preferred.
  • 10+ year experience working in AEC industry preferred.

Pay: $115,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
