Administrative Summary:
The Director is a current non-tenure track or tenure track assistant, associate or full professor in the College of Natural Resources. They will serve as the administrative coordinator for the Wildland Fire Center, acting as the central figure in managing and enhancing all aspects of the program. As the primary point of contact, the Director ensures seamless communication and collaboration both within the program and with external partners. They will oversee and enhance the programs strategic initiatives, research endeavors, operational effectiveness, and overall excellence, striving to elevate its standing and impact. The Director will lead, manage, and coordinate a wide range of responsibilities to ensure the programs activities align with the colleges mission and goals. This includes fostering a supportive and dynamic environment and effective supervision for faculty, staff, and students, promoting innovative teaching methods, and advancing scholarly research. The employee will direct and manage sustainable budget practices for their program. The Director will also play a crucial role in community outreach, building strong relationships with industry partners, and advocating for the program at various levels. Job duty functions for teaching, scholarship, outreach, and leadership will be negotiated at the time of hire. The Director will receive a 10% base salary stipend for their administrative work. Summer contracts will be negotiated annually with the Dean.
Contingency Description:
This administrative appointment or the administrative portion of the faculty appointment is temporary. Employee acknowledges and agrees that in the event there is no longer a need for the administrative assignment, as determined by University in its sole discretion, University may change this Agreement and remove the administrative salary and/or course release during the contract year and employee may return to their faculty appointment, upon 60 days written notice.

Minimum Education/Degree Required:
Listed degree qualification is required at time of hire.
Required Qualifications:
- Current non-tenure track or tenure track assistant, associate or full professor in the College of Natural Resources.
- Experience engaging partners and stakeholders to provide leadership for the program.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience facilitating collaborative, broad-based, interdisciplinary research and outreach.
