Disability Support Worker

A Support Worker's purpose is to help people achieve their goals and provide assistance in simple day-to-day tasks and out in the community. You'll help people living with different physical disabilities and mental health needs, and work with other health professionals to maximize their wellbeing.What You'll Do:

• Support participants to achieve their personal goals and build independence
• Assist with daily living activities including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
• Provide community access support for social activities, shopping, and appointments
• Work collaboratively with health professionals, families, and support coordinators
• Maintain accurate documentation in line with NDIS standards
• Follow Key Support Services policies and procedures to ensure safe, quality support

Essential Requirements:

• Minimum Certificate III qualification in Disability, Mental Health, or Social Work (training will be supplied if needed)
• Current National Police Check
• Working with Children Check (WWCC)
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Willingness to attend all training provided by Key Support Services or with a registered training facility

Preferred:

• Valid Driver's License and reliable car (not essential but preferred)

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $30.00 – $44.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Newcastle NSW 2300: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Licence/Certification:

• NDIS Workers Screening Check (Preferred)
• First Aid Certification (Preferred)
• Working with Children Check (Preferred)
• National Police Certificate (Preferred)
• Driver Licence (Preferred)
• CPR Certification (Preferred)

Work Authorisation:

• Australia (Preferred)
