Role Summary:

As a Male Disability Support Worker, you will provide compassionate, person-centered care and support to individuals with disabilities. You will assist participants in achieving greater independence, inclusion and overall well-being while respecting their dignity, preferences and goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Personal Care and Support:

• Assist participants with daily living tasks, including grooming, bathing, dressing, and toileting.
• Administer medication as per the participant's care plan and training.

Community Access and Engagement:

• Accompany participants to appointments, recreational activities, and community events.
• Support participants in building social connections and engaging in meaningful activities.

Household Assistance:

• Help with meal preparation, light housekeeping, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
• Assist participants in managing daily routines and household tasks.

Transportation:

• Safely transport participants to various locations using your own vehicle or company-provided transport (if applicable).

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and progress.
• Communicate effectively with participants, their families, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, or a related field.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable, insured vehicle.
• Working with Children Check (WWCC), NDIS Worker Screening Check & Manual Handling.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.

Desirable:

• At least one year of experience in disability support or a related field.
• Solid understanding of NDIS practices and policies.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proven experience supporting clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
