Position Overview:
We are seeking a hardworking, detail-oriented, and punctual individual for the role of Disability Support Worker & Cleaner (Dual Role). In this position, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our clients while providing compassionate, person-centered support as required. This dual role requires a strong work ethic, reliability, and excellent communication skills to manage a variety of cleaning tasks alongside disability support duties.

Key Responsibilities:

Cleaning Duties (Primary Focus):

  • Thoroughly clean and sanitize client rooms, bathrooms, dining areas, and common spaces to a high standard.
  • Clean windows, glass surfaces, and other high-touch areas to maintain a safe, hygienic environment.
  • Use commercial cleaning equipment, including polishers, steamers, and vacuum cleaners.
  • Sweep, mop, wax, and polish various floor types (vinyl, timber, concrete).
  • Clean and maintain carpets, curtains, and upholstered furniture.
  • Assist with kitchen cleaning, including scrubbing, sanitation, and general upkeep.
  • Promptly report any maintenance issues, hazards, or safety concerns.
  • Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed efficiently and in line with health and safety guidelines.
  • Keep track of cleaning supplies and ensure proper stock levels are maintained.

Disability Support Work:

  • Provide direct support to clients in accordance with their individual care plans, including personal care, mobility assistance, and community access.
  • Support clients to participate in age-appropriate activities, employment, and social interactions.
  • Assist with medication administration as per the organization's policies and NDIS requirements.
  • Maintain accurate client documentation, including progress notes and care plans.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, case managers, and healthcare professionals to support the client's goals.
  • Contribute to the physical and emotional well-being of clients, ensuring their dignity and privacy at all times.

Essential Criteria:

  • Attention to detail, hard work, and punctuality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience supporting people with disabilities, including those with mental health conditions (preferred).
  • A reliable vehicle with full comprehensive car insurance.
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks and client transfers as needed.
  • Flexibility to work across multiple locations and adapt to changing client needs.

Required Certifications:

  • Certificate III or IV in Disability (Required)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Induction Modules (Required)
  • First Aid & CPR (Required)
  • NDIS Worker Screen Check (Required)
  • Australian National Police Check (Required)
  • Full Driver’s License (Required)
  • Working with Children Check - Employer (Required)
  • Infection Control Training (COVID-19) (Required)

Pay: $32.00 – $34.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 24 per week
