Employment Type
Casual
Employment is offered on a casual basis.
Shifts are allocated according to participant needs, worker suitability and operational requirements. Casual employment does not guarantee a minimum number of hours.
Salary
From $35.00 per hour (Casual) plus Superannuation, applicable SCHADS Award penalty rates, weekend and public holiday penalties, travel allowances and kilometre reimbursement where applicable.
Classification and remuneration will be determined in accordance with the SCHADS Award based on the employee's classification, qualifications, experience and the inherent requirements of the role.
About the Role
You will support participants living with psychosocial disability and complex support needs within their homes and local communities.
Responsibilities may include:
- Supporting community participation and social inclusion.
- Assisting participants to build independence and daily living skills.
- Supporting recovery-oriented goals and healthy routines.
- Transporting participants to appointments and community activities.
- Assisting with shopping, meal preparation and household tasks.
- Monitoring participant wellbeing and identifying changes in presentation.
- Following Individual Support Plans, Behaviour Support Plans and Risk Assessments.
- Completing accurate and objective progress notes after every shift.
- Reporting incidents, hazards and safeguarding concerns promptly.
- Working collaboratively with Support Coordinators, Recovery Coaches, Behaviour Support Practitioners, Registered Nurses and allied health professionals.

Essential Requirements
Applicants must demonstrate the ability to perform the inherent requirements of the role and possess:
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain before commencement).
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Current Victorian Driver Licence.
- Reliable, registered and comprehensively insured motor vehicle.
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module (or willingness to complete before commencement).
- Right to work in Australia.
- Smartphone with internet access.
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to communicate effectively and complete accurate electronic documentation.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
The following are highly regarded but not essential:
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability), Certificate IV in Disability, Certificate IV in Mental Health, or another relevant qualification.
- Experience supporting participants with psychosocial disability or complex mental health.
- Experience implementing Behaviour Support Plans.
- Understanding of trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practice.
- Medication Administration competency.
- Experience working within Supported Independent Living (SIL) or community-based disability services.
