  • Non-ongoing opportunity from 24 February 2025 to 30 June 2025


The Library is seeking to fill a Website Manager (EL1) role on an non-ongoing basis until 30 June, with the potential to become ongoing.

The National Library of Australia has a new website (library.gov.au), and we are looking for an experienced website manager and publisher to oversee this exciting new product.

As the Website Manager you will:
  • Define and manage service level agreements, scope and the end-to-end delivery of website services. This includes writing policies and procedures for new or changed services.
  • Apply high level stakeholder engagement skills and be able to understand, negotiate and resolve very complex, difficult, and/or sensitive issues that may arise.
  • Manage contracts and vendor liaison, creating and managing integrated publishing approaches that align dependencies and deliverables, track progress and minimise risk.
  • Write and publish high value or urgent content using the content management system (Drupal).
  • Follow approved content publishing standards and guidelines, ensuring compliance with Digital Transformation Agency guidelines, web publishing processes, Search Engine Optimisation and Search Engine Marketing and other emerging technologies.
You will have the skills to:
  • Develop and maintain internal and external relationships to use available evidence, including analytics and best practice options, to effectively engage with business areas and subject matter experts to identify solutions that meet business and audience needs.
  • Negotiate the development of website content, that is accessible and audience-centric, alongside other members of the Communications and Marketing Section.
  • Create and deliver an annual program of content and website improvements. This includes collaborating with business areas throughout the Library on an annual content plan.
  • Undertake technical publishing including HTML, CSS using Drupal.
  • Develop, edit, train and support users in the content management system.
