About the role:
The Apprentice will play a critical role in company growth as Oceanvolt looks to expand their installation team. They will be performing electrical work as well as installing photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery storage systems, EV chargers, and service upgrades on homes.
Duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Assemble and install electrical equipment as per design, safety, and code requirements.
- Work on all types of pitched or flat residential roof tops, in attics, crawl spaces, garages and on the exterior of homes.
- Work efficiently and proficiently with the Installation Lead to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Assure quality control and safety standards are always met.
- Maintain a work trailer & organize material.
- Maintain and ensure operational readiness of company-provided tools; prevent damage.
- Promptly and accurately submit time sheets daily.
Who are we looking for?
Experience requirements:
- You are registered as an Electrical Apprentice through SkilledTradesBC.
- You have a valid class 5 Drivers License.
- You have experience working with power tools (impact drill, skill saw).
- You are comfortable working at heights and climbing ladders.
- You are fluent in English.
- You have a good understanding of the Canadian Electric Code.

Willingness requirements:
- Willing and flexible to work varying hours and locations Monday to Friday.
- Willing to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Willing and able to lift 50 lbs or more, multiple times per day.
- Willing to travel to locations all over Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands.
Additional certifications/experience that is not required but would be considered a plus:
- First aid.
- Fall arrest (if not already obtained, training will be provided upon employment).
- Experience in the solar industry.
- Roofing experience
