Join our small and engaged team at Kapuni, where your expertise will directly support the reliability and performance of critical dairy manufacturing operations.
We’re looking for a multi-disciplined industrial Electrical Maintenance Technician, ideally dual-traded in Instrumentation and endorsed for hazardous areas. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across a broad spectrum of plant systems and technologies in a high-performing environment.
You’ll drive Electrical and Instrumentation maintenance best practice and provide expert support for breakdown services across Site.
Day to day responsibilities include:
- Maintaining and troubleshoot systems across site utilities, steam generation, dairy production equipment, packing and palletising lines and instrumentation and PLC systems.
- Applying sound fault-finding techniques and carry out maintenance activities with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Supporting plant upgrades and reliability initiatives, contributing to long-term asset performance and operational efficiency.
- Participating in site-wide projects, including replacement and inspection of instrumentation and lighting systems.
This is a hands-on, permanent day shift opportunity with an on-call duties one week in every four to five weeks.

We are seeking an individual with a natural sense of curiosity, a proactive attitude and a strong desire to learn, explore and understand complex systems. You remain calm under pressure when responding to unplanned breakdowns and can confidently troubleshoot issues as they occur.
With your forward-thinking drive and ability to achieve results you’ll have plenty of scope to drive continuous improvement on equipment with some of our industry's cutting edge automated technology. You’ll be a strong problem solver with excellent communication skills, working collaboratively within the team and across the site.
We want to hear from you if you have:
- A New Zealand Electrical Registration with a current practicing licence.
- Multi-disciplined, ideally dual-traded in Instrumentation
- Proven experience in industrial electrical systems, with exposure to AS/NZS 60079 standards for hazardous areas.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems (ideally SAP) for managing work orders, maintenance plans and asset data.
- Ability to interpret and work from PLC wiring schedules, equipment lists, and technical documentation.
- Comfortable working in a high-risk environment, with a strong understanding of compliance and certification requirements.
