The EMEA Product Specialist acts as the primary technology expert in EMEA for the Long-Fiber Thermoplastic (LFT) and Polypropylene (PP) compound product family. He or she will provide product recommendations and technology guidance to external customers and other teams within Celanese such as the commercial team, business management, stewardship, manufacturing, quality and others to achieve business goals and to make business decisions.

YOU will be involved in the following tasks:
The successful candidate will act as the internal as well as customer product specialist for the LFT and PP product line and collaborate with cross functional teams to support manufacturing & promotion as well as providing technical support for these products. He/she will
- Maintain internal product release criteria in line with manufacturing capabilities and customer requirements for commercial products and new products under development
- Provide technical support for new application development, customer qualification and specification, and business-critical manufacturing and supply issues to internal and external customers
- Act as a steward of product data quality, communication and enable connections of product attributes to new customers and applications as well as launching new regional products
- Be the technical lead for the LFT and PP product line in Europe
What YOU will bring to the team:
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Master’s degree in materials, polymer, chemistry, or chemical engineering- Some experience/expertise in thermoplastics manufacturing, product development, application development, and/or product management of engineering polymers
- Strong communication skills to work effectively in a global environment
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is a must
- Fluency in Italian is required to work effectively with manufacturing
- Other language skills like French or German are a plus
- Self-starter, goal-oriented, hands-on individual with drive for solving problems and finding innovative solutions in a timely manner
- Ability to align objectives across business, commercial and technical functions
- Experience with polymer analytical and material property testing methods
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, for internal and external customers
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional team to achieve common goals within the timeline and budget
Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of long fiber pultrusion processing, long-fiber products and polypropylene compounds is highly desired- Ph.D. degree in materials, polymer, chemistry, or chemical engineering
- Experience working with statistical process control and six sigma principles
- Technical experience with semi-crystalline thermoplastic material performance and/or formulations
- Knowledge of injection molding and compounding with twin screw extruder
- Working knowledge on software/processes such as SAP, SFDC or other ERP system
- Working knowledge in material science, especially on polymer structure-property relationships
- Excellent project management and organizational skills required to develop detailed project timelines with key milestones and deliverables
- Work well in team environment and possess the interpersonal and communication skills needed to work effectively in cross-functional teams to drive project from lab-to-commercial scale
