Estimator

Apex Demolition Inc., is a family owned business serving customers from the Gulf Coast of Florida to Central Florida and more! We are experiencing rapid growth and are searching for an experienced Estimator to help us win new business and accurately price jobs. You’ll play a major role by visiting job sites, building client relationships, and helping move projects forward. This is a key position at Apex and the right candidate will assist us in moving the company in a positive direction, while being financially rewarded for your efforts.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Visit job sites to assess scope, take measurements, and evaluate logistics
• Use takeoff software to estimate materials, labor, and equipment
• Review blueprints and proposals to create accurate bids
• Work with vendors and subcontractors to gather pricing
• Submit and present proposals to clients
• Actively search for new clients and job opportunities
• Track bid results, follow up with prospects, and report on sales activity
• Coordinate with project managers to ensure a smooth handoff

Tools For Success:

• 3 to 5 years of experience in estimating or construction-related sales
• Quantity takeoffs, preparing and managing bid packages (RFI Ongoing deadlines)
• Subcontractor/bid procurement, cost control, scheduling, P&L
• Ability to hit deadlines, while embracing organizational skills
• Familiarity with Procore, takeoff tools such as On-Screen Takeoff or Bluebeam, Planswift, and Excel
• Ability to read construction plans and specifications
• Strong communication skills, comfortable speaking with clients and vendors
• Willingness to travel across Central Florida for site visits when needed
• A valid driver’s license and dependable vehicle
• A degree in Construction Management, Business, or Engineering is a plus, but not required
• Background in demolition, civil, or general contracting
• Maintaining and delivering a high level of quality and competitive bid analysis

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of Florida building codes and construction practices
• Experience with cost-saving and value-engineering strategies
• CRM or sales pipeline software experience
