Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Estimator and Blueprint Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate would provide accurate and detailed estimates of labour and materials for modular homes, ADUs, and Mini Homes constructed within a plant environment. The Estimator & Blueprint Analyst will utilize Atlantic Modern Homes’ custom-built Smartsheet system and Master Cost Sheet to support efficient project planning, while ensuring all construction phases are accounted for economically and constructively. This role is critical in identifying design issues and pinch points before they impact production, helping reduce rework and maintain build quality.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other documentation.
- Utilize software tools such as to create precise estimates and manage project data.
- Collaborate with project managers to understand project requirements and scope.
- Consult with site stakeholders to gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, revisions, and related documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and presentations for clients.
- Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle to ensure adherence to budget constraints.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in estimating software including Google Drive and Smartsheet.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and pricing strategies.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and vendors.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy in all estimates produced.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.

Skills
- Minimum 5 years of residential construction experience (framing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and finishing)
- Strong knowledge of materials and where they are used in construction phases
- Proven ability to read, critique, and interpret architectural and mechanical blueprints
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
- Familiarity with digital estimating tools; experience with Microsoft Office, Smartsheet and Autocad/Chief Architect is an asset
- Able to work independently with minimal oversight while meeting deadlines
- Familiar with construction types (Type 3 & Type 5), lumber/sheathing grades, and general code requirements
- Strong skills in general computer proficiency
Working Conditions
- Full-time, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime as required
- Primarily office-based within a modular home plant environment, with occasional site visits
- Exposure to indoor/outdoor plant conditions, noise, and heavy equipment
Essential Job Function Requirements
May include some heavy lifting and extended periods of standing or sitting.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour
