Experienced Maintenance Technician

About Us

MGT Property Management is a locally owned and operated residential property management company serving the greater Waterloo/Cedar Falls area.

We’re currently hiring an Experienced Maintenance Technician to support our growing portfolio. The right candidate is confident in general residential repairs, highly dependable, and able to manage a fast-paced, varied workload. Plumbing experience is a major plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete general maintenance and repair tasks, including:
• Plumbing (unclogging drains, replacing fixtures, minor pipe repairs, etc.)
• Basic electrical (outlets, switches, lighting)
• HVAC troubleshooting
• Drywall repair and painting
• Appliance installation and minor repairs
• Locks, doors, window and screen repairs
• Respond to maintenance work orders in a timely manner
• Complete turnover repairs and make units rent-ready after move-outs
• Perform and document routine preventative maintenance
• Log completed work using mobile property management software

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in residential maintenance or similar trade
• Plumbing or electrical experience preferred
• Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve independently
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Comfortable using mobile apps to track work orders
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and work ethic

Work Environment

This is a physical, hands-on role in a fast-paced setting. You’ll be:

• Walking, lifting, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders
• Must be able to push, pull, lift, carry, or maneuver weights of minimum seventy-five (75) pounds.
• Working both indoors and outdoors

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• No weekends
• On call
