  • Oversees the production of the fabrication shop, which includes making sure weekly work objectives are delivered to all departments – progress needed and work plans.
  • Serves as liaison between project managers and shop floor foremen.
  • Work with other fabrication supervisors to plan and execute work within budget and specifications
  • Oversees, inventory and ordering of consumables in a timely manner.
  • Ensures the fabrication work is performed with quality and safety per specifications, OSHA regulations and company safety policies (ALWAYS).
  • Accountable for overseeing that safety inspections are completed, and any corrections are implemented
  • Assist with investigating root cause analysis
  • Work with MAK, project managers, and other MAK supervisors to ensure best work methods are developed and tested in advance of receipt of contract material for maximum efficiency
  • Sets example in terms of safety and professional conduct
  • Work with QC Inspector on quality issues with project management team and assists with planning solutions
  • Oversees and maintain efficient shop workflow
  • Coordinates flow of material through production floor, including paint and welding;
  • Prepare and update shop production schedules
  • Works with Project Manager / Estimating to develop projections for man hours
  • Ensured daily man hour budgets are being met by employees for each segment of production.
  • Oversee, mentors and coaches’ employees on their development needs
  • Maintains a project fabrication shop culture that promotes company growth and worker/client satisfaction.
Qualifications/Education:


  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a fabrication shop, experience with bridge components a plus;
  • Experience with AISC certified shop preferred
  • Previous management experience.
  • Skilled at reading shop drawings and blue-prints.
  • Team Player with solid communication skills.
  • Basic math skills (fractions and decimals)
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb and crawl over and under fabricated materials.
  • Work extensive hours in a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Knowledgeable in OSHA requirements
  • Ability to lead others
  • Knowledge of tools and proper care of equipment
  • Aptitude to learn computer / tablet skills
  • Ability to get work done thru others and
  • Ability to understand and minimize the risks
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly.
