**Job Overview:**
As a Facility Technician, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining safe and efficient facilities. Your responsibilities include routine maintenance, system repairs, inspections, hazardous waste management, chemical handling, and custodial tasks. **Responsibilities:**
● Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including repairing office furniture, replacing light fixtures, and maintaining air conditioning and heating systems.
● Diagnose and promptly fix system breakdowns to minimize downtime and disruption.
● Perform regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational policies.
● Oversee infrastructure and maintenance, including electrical, water, gas, heating, cooling, fire protection, and security systems.
● Coordinate with external vendors and implement safety protocols.
● Manage hazardous waste disposal and storage in accordance with environmental regulations and best practices.
● Handle and store chemicals safely, following proper procedures and guidelines.
● Perform custodial and housekeeping activities, including cleaning common areas, restrooms, and break rooms.
**Skills:**
- Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment independently.
- Familiarity with tools and equipment used in maintenance and repairs.
- Comfortable working in diverse environments (e.g., offices, manufacturing plants, schools).
- Ability to handle unexpected situations and adapt to changing priorities.
- Efficiently manage tasks and prioritize maintenance requests.
- Self-disciplined to meet deadlines and respond promptly to urgent issues.
- Strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials handling and disposal.
- Clear communication with colleagues, vendors, and management.
- Ability to document work performed and maintain records.
- Analytical mindset to diagnose issues and find practical solutions.
- Resourcefulness in sourcing parts and materials.
- Proactive approach to preventive maintenance.
- Willingness to take ownership of tasks and responsibilities.
