Golden Age NZ Ltd, based in the vibrant community of Kumeu, Auckland, is a dynamic and fast-growing company specializing in high-quality farm products. We are seeking a reliable and experienced Field Crop Farm Supervisor to join our farm team. This role is responsible for supervising and coordinating the day-to-day crop production activities on the farm, ensuring that planting, growing, harvesting, and other field operations are carried out efficiently, safely, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily field crop farming operations, including planting, cultivating, irrigating, spraying, harvesting, and related activities
- Monitor crop conditions and assist in maintaining crop health, quality, and productivity
- Allocate duties to farm workers and oversee their performance to ensure work is completed efficiently and to the required standard
- Assist with planning and organising seasonal crop production activities in accordance with farm schedules
- Ensure the correct operation and basic maintenance of farm machinery, tools, irrigation systems, and equipment used in field operations
- Monitor and maintain compliance with workplace health and safety procedures
- Record and report on crop activities, labour usage, output, and any operational issues to farm management
- Assist with stock and supply checks for fertilisers, chemicals, seeds, packaging, and other farm materials
- Support quality control procedures and ensure produce is handled in accordance with farm and market requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience in crop farming, horticulture, or agricultural production, including some supervisory experience. Qualification is not a must but is an advantage if relevant to agriculture, horticulture, or farm production.
- Practical knowledge of field crop farming operations, including planting, irrigation, crop maintenance, and harvesting processes
- Ability to supervise staff and coordinate daily work activities in a farming environment
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
- Ability to identify and report crop or operational issues in a timely manner
- Physically fit and capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- A positive attitude and a strong work ethic; exceptional communication skills; proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage.
Work Hours & Remuneration:
- Guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week, with actual hours to be worked as rostered between Monday and Sunday depending on seasonal and operational requirements
- Hourly rate: NZD $28.00 – $32.00 per hour, depending on skills, experience, and suitability for the role
