Finance Officer / Assistant Finance Manager

Purpose of the Role

As part of our expanding finance function, VF Foods is seeking a Finance Officer or Assistant Finance Manager to support the Financial Controller. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing monthly management accounts and overseeing the day-to-day running of the finance department.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is newly qualified or nearing qualification to gain valuable experience in a growing, fast-paced business.

Key Responsibilities

• Support in the preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting packs
• Manage day-to-day finance operations, including AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and GL maintenance
• Assist in month-end close processes and journal postings
• Support cash flow monitoring and forecasting
• Assist with budgeting and variance analysis
• Maintain internal controls and contribute to process improvements
• Liaise with auditors and external stakeholders as required
• Work closely with the FC on finance projects and ad hoc reporting

Requirements

• Part-qualified or newly qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• 1–3 years’ experience in a similar finance or accounting role
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with finance systems
• Excellent attention to detail, with a proactive and positive attitude
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
