Financial Accountant (Au, 3-Month Contract, Hybrid In Pasig)

Please note that this a 3-month contract initial agreement but with extention of employment depending on the performance.

JOB DETAILS

Qualification required/desired:

The Client is seeking a skilled and proactive professional to support our finance department with day-to-day operations, with a strong focus on their recently implemented ERP system, NetSuite, and end-of-financial-year (EOFY) deliverables. The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in finance or accounting, coupled with hands-on experience in both bookkeeping and ERP systems.

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Compliance

· Prepare financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

· Ensure compliance with Australian Taxation Office (ATO) regulations, including GST, BAS, PAYG, and income tax returns

· Assist with ASIC financial reporting and statutory lodgments

· Generate business-required reports, including monthly financial statements, tax submissions, EOFY reports, annual budgets, and ad hoc financial reports

Month-End & Year-End Closing

· Perform month-end and year-end reconciliations for balance sheet and P&L accounts

· Prepare accruals, prepayments, and journal entries

· Support external and internal audits by ensuring proper documentation and compliance

Budgeting & Forecasting

· Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts

· Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance

· Manage and monitor cash flow, including foreign exchange (FX), and prepare quarterly forecasts

· Identify cost reduction opportunities through data analytics Accounts Management & Reconciliation

· Oversee general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and intercompany transactions

· Monitor accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and collection

· Enforce adherence to payment policies; follow up on overdue accounts

· Process and reconcile expense claims and credit card transactions Inventory & Supply Chain

· Manage supply chain activities including purchasing, materials planning, inventory control, warehousing, and receiving

· Coordinate supply chain management with other business units · Regularly review and update inventory costs Taxation & Regulatory Compliance

· Prepare and lodge BAS, FBT, payroll tax, and other statutory returns

· Perform GST reconciliation and handle Activity Statement preparation and lodgment

· Assist with tax planning strategies and liaise with external tax advisors Process Improvement & Financial Controls

· Identify and implement improvements in financial processes and workflows · Ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate governance standards

· Champion the NetSuite ERP system, including the development and enhancement of financial controls and system processes

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field; CPA certification is highly regarded

· Minimum of 3 years’ experience in tax or accounting roles, with hands-on experience supporting Australian clients

· Proficient in NetSuite Accounting System, including: Financial, inventory, and project management reporting and, Creating and customizing reports beyond standard templates

· Strong inventory management knowledge, including receiving, fulfillment, and stock transfers · Proven experience in project setup and management

· Nice to have: Experience with FSM (Field Service Management) apps, including timesheet integration, and workflow customization in ERP platforms (e.g., SO/PO approval processes)

· Solid understanding of Australian tax legislation, including GST and income tax, with the ability to handle compliance tasks such as BAS and ITR preparation with minimal supervision

· Strong working knowledge of tax effect accounting and relevant accounting standards

· Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders (e.g., vendors, suppliers)

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - especially Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, reporting tools), Word, and Outlook

· High level of digital literacy and the ability to quickly learn new platforms and tools

· Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects effectively

· Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work

· Capable of working both independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision

· Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset

· Sound business acumen, highly numerate, with strong analytical and planning capabilities

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly

Working shifts: Australian Business Hours

Work Set up: Hybrid – 3 month term Office

Location: One Corporate Centre - Julia Vargas Avenue, Meralco Ave, Ortigas Center, Pasig, Metro Manila
