POSITION SUMMARY

Valley Strong Credit Union has established a business banking model with Member service as the core foundation. With a broad and ever-growing range of financial products, Valley Strong is positioned for growth.

We are currently looking for an experienced Financial Analyst to join our growing team. The Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting the Business Bankers in underwriting credit, portfolio management, maintenance and customer service. This position is relied upon to independently prepare a thorough analysis of all aspect of business credit, including the preparation of financial spreads and projections in conformance with the Credit Union’s policies and procedures, for new loan requests, renewals and annual reviews.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Independently interact with prospective and existing clients to collect financial statements, tax returns, and other applicable information to include, but is not limited to account receivables aging’s, account payable aging’s, rent rolls, operating statements, leases, corporate documents, and environmental reports.
  • Independently complete financial spreads for personal and business financial statements/tax returns or statement of real estate owned to complete cash flow using the Credit Union’s software tools including financial statement spreading and cash flow/global cash flow analysis, as requested and needed.
  • Ability to analyze various financial documents, identify credit weaknesses and transaction risk and recommend risk ratings
  • Identify loan purpose, source of repayment, collateral value/priority, and full written analysis if all credit elements within the Credit Presentation.
  • Monitor loan performance which may include but is not limited to assessment of payment trends, covenant violations and tax/insurance payments
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and analytical skills with a strong preference for providing financial analysis support
  • Assist during internal or external audits, as needed
  • Complete all requirements of Credit Training Program and demonstrate a thorough understanding of all key concepts
  • Become knowledgeable in key concepts including banking, regulatory requirements, lending products, credit, and credit union tools

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or 3 to 5 years related finance, banking, credit union lending experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to accurate solve problems and exceptional proficiency in data management.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Team Members, Supervisors, Executives, and other departments.
  • Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities without close supervision.
  • Ability to perform task and achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and precision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complete financial information into an organized and presentable manner.
  • Proficient in the use of and application of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Credit Quest is preferred but not required.
