Financial Controller - Expenses (W/M)
Job Description:

MAIN MISSIONS

You will report to the “Head of Accounting and PBR (Plan, Budget, Result)” and have a dotted line with the PBR manager. Your main responsibilities will be:


Financial controlling of French service companies

  • Lead and coordinate the financial planning, forecasting/budgeting process of French service companies and follow-up.
    • Prepare instructions and manage the calendar
    • Be able to challenge the budget owners on their inputs, analyze, explain figures and give a comprehensive picture
    • Responsible for the expense projections and budget for the Finance department as well as the overall budget of one of the service entities
    • Coordinate centrally the time reporting
  • Monitor and ensure the accuracy and relevance of cost allocation model and keys within the budget tool Anaplan
  • Run the ULAE provision calculation for the French runoff portfolios
  • Run the closing of French service companies with the accounting team :
    • Management of expense recharges for service companies
    • Work closely with accounting team: ensure the accuracy of provisions, deliver true-up amounts, produce appendix of annual financial statements, transfer price documentation
    • Validation of invoices in the invoice register system

“Referent expert” of Management Expenses for all AXA LM entities

  • Overview and coordinate AXA LM management expenses controlling activities with the local financial controllers in charge of other countries
  • Consolidate the expense view for all Axa LM, liaise and challenge the local financial controller.
  • Definition and monitoring of management expenses and FTE related KPIs: analysis of deviations and comment the developments.
  • Presentations to CFO and ExCom of the expenses
  • Be a trusted partner of Axa LM departments for expense related topics (e.g local accounting teams, actuarial teams, corporate finance) and stakeholders

Management of expense tools

  • Business owner Anaplan
    • Be the link between technical team and PBR/HR teams
    • Configuration, training, support, data quality checks
  • Business owner for Time Report
    • Maintain Timereport list of projects
    • Ensure proper allocation of time by the French service company’s employees
    • Manage the relationship with AXA GO (raise and follow-up Silva tickets)


Contribution to transformation and/or strategic Projects (when applicable):

  • Ad-hoc analysis from Management/Executive Committee or contribute to business development projects if applicable
  • Roll out process and tools with the aim of improving the quality, timeliness and efficiency of the reporting


PROFILE

  • Master degree in Finance/Audit and Accounting: Business school, university
  • Min. 2-4 years of experience in financial advisory / audit firm or in expense monitoring in a finance department
  • Sound financial skills (P&L, accounting) are required
  • Knowledge of (re)insurance would be a plus, but not mandatory
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and synthetic skills
  • Highly organized, structured, proactive and ability to manage deadlines
  • Good presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Good team player
  • Fluent English is required
  • Pack office knowledge
