Job Summary
The Japanese Community Volunteers Association (JCVA) seeks a caring and dedicated Osteo-Fit or Fall Prevention Instructor to lead specialized exercise classes for seniors in our community. The ideal candidate will create a supportive and engaging environment to help seniors improve their strength, balance, and overall well-being. This role requires compassion, strong communication skills, and the ability to adapt exercises to meet individual needs. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with the ability to adapt instruction to various fitness levels.
Duties
- Conduct engaging and effective Osteo-Fit or Fall Prevention exercise classes for senior participants.
- Assess participants' fitness levels and health needs to ensure safe and effective exercise.
- Modify exercises as needed to accommodate individual limitations or disabilities.
- Educate participants on the importance of exercise, balance, and fall prevention strategies.
- Provide exceptional support and encouragement, fostering a positive and inclusive class environment.
- Monitor participant progress and provide feedback to help them achieve their goals.
- Maintain a clean and safe workout environment, ensuring all equipment is properly stored.
- Communicate effectively with participants, addressing their questions and concerns with empathy and understanding.
Requirements
- REQUIRED: Applicants must hold valid certification in Canada and have their own liability insurance.
- Proven ability to motivate and encourage seniors in a fitness setting.
- Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Japanese is a valuable asset.
- Demonstrated customer service experience, with a focus on creating positive interactions with senior participants.
- Knowledge of senior fitness principles, fall prevention strategies, and safe exercise techniques.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to manage class schedules effectively.
- A genuine passion for health and fitness, with a particular interest in helping seniors maintain their independence and quality of life.

Pay: $50.00-$55.00 per hour
