Floater Closing Teacher Job Description

Position: Floater Closing Teacher
Schedule: 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM
Pay: $14-15/hour

Position Overview

The Floater Closing Teacher plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of classrooms by providing flexible support to lead and assistant teachers throughout the day. This role requires adaptability, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a high standard of classroom operations, curriculum implementation, and cleaning duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Classroom Support
    • Assist teachers in maintaining classroom standards, schedules, and routines.
    • Provide support during lessons and activities to ensure curriculum delivery is engaging and effective.
    • Step into classrooms as needed to take over when a teacher is unavailable.
  • Flexibility of Assignment
    • Be available to move between classrooms based on the needs of the center.
    • Adapt quickly to different age groups, teaching styles, and classroom dynamics.
  • Activity Preparation
    • Prepare and set up materials for the next activity during naptime or between transitions.
    • Organize and restock classroom supplies as needed.
  • Cleaning and Organization
    • Assist in cleaning duties, including sanitizing surfaces, organizing toys, and tidying up after activities.
    • Ensure classrooms are ready and presentable for the next day or activity.
  • Closing Duties
    • Ensure all areas are cleaned, organized, and secure before leaving.
    • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the center is ready for the next day.
