Food Safety Quality Assurance Technician - 3rd Shift

Job Summary:

Food Safety technicians are responsible for guaranteeing the quality and food safety of our products and services. This position supports sanitation process, pre – op inspections, regulatory compliance and monitoring of the food production to adhere to food safety and quality requirements.

General Description Responsibilities:

· Verify sanitation procedures are being performed and inspect facility for sanitary condition prior to start of production. Conduct preop inspection as well as collecting performance samples to analytically evaluate sanitation performance.

· Verify employees follow all plant GMP's.

· Complete record review, preshipment activities, maintain audit documentation. Data entry as needed for information collected during audits.

· Complete internal audits for sanitation, food safety standards and product quality. Be able to record written documentation on audits.

· Communicate with Quality Director, Food Safety Manager and/or QA supervisor on sanitation activities, production performance and every time there are deviations.

· Communicate with line operators and supervisors on quality and food safety standards during production.

· Perform any laboratory work or product inspections required

· Shipping/Receiving inspections and releases. This includes raw material inspection, dry goods, trailer inspections and returns.

· Conduct Daily SSOP, HACCP, GMP, and SQF monitoring activities

· Stop production or place product on hold when the department is not meeting quality or food safety requirements

· This is a Backup to this position is other QA techs

· Conduct Temperature and Equipment Calibrations

· Perform titrations for ozone, PAA, Quat, Chlorine or other sanitizers

· QA Tech Qualifications/Competencies

· Able to complete quality or food safety investigations and complete appropriate documentation

· Able to take and perform Corrective Action and Preventative Measure, Communication, Documentation and Verification of the CAPA

· Conduct and perform aseptic techniques for products or environmental swabbing

· Conduct and document product and ambient temperature monitoring activities

· Conduct operational sanitation monitoring audits

· Conduct direct observations of individual performing job tasks

Duties Estimated Time:

80% time on production floor

20% office, computer, and lab activities

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to work in variable room temperatures 10 F - 100 F.

Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.50 - $21.00 per hour

  • Monday to Friday
