Expatro Tours is a Catholic tour operator dedicated to creating faith-based travel experiences across Europe. Our mission is to help pilgrims and travelers encounter Christ through sacred art, history, and culture — walking in the footsteps of the saints who shaped the Catholic faith.

We are seeking freelance Religious Tour Guides to lead Catholic pilgrimage and heritage walking tours in Loreto, one of the most cherished Marian shrines in the world, home to the Holy House of Nazareth — believed to be the very home where the Blessed Virgin Mary lived, and miraculously transported to Loreto.

You will guide pilgrims, faith-based groups, and culturally curious visitors through Loreto’s sacred sites — including the Basilica of the Holy House, the Holy House of Nazareth, the Marble Screen and Treasury Chapel, and the Apostolic Palace Museum.

Each tour combines Catholic spirituality, Marian devotion, and Church history, helping visitors reflect on the Incarnation, the Holy Family, and Mary’s role in salvation history.

This is more than a sightseeing experience — it’s a spiritual and educational journey that invites travelers to encounter the mystery of the Incarnation and the enduring power of Marian faith in the heart of Loreto.

We’re seeking individuals who are:

• Deeply knowledgeable about Catholic spirituality, Marian devotion, and Church history.
• Inspired by the story and miracles of the Holy House of Loreto.
• Passionate about faith storytelling and able to engage pilgrims with warmth and reverence.
• Comfortable leading both spiritual pilgrims and cultural visitors in reflective, sacred settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Catholic walking and day tours in Loreto, visiting key pilgrimage sites such as:
• The Basilica of the Holy House
• The Holy House of Nazareth
• The Treasury Chapel and Marble Screen
• The Apostolic Palace and Museum
• The Loreto City Walls and Pilgrim Route
• Deliver engaging commentary rooted in Catholic theology, Scripture, and Marian spirituality.
• Provide historical and artistic context about the Basilica and the Holy House tradition.
• Encourage reflection, prayer, and reverent participation during visits.
• Ensure group timing, comfort, and respectful conduct within sacred spaces.

Essential Skills

• Strong understanding of Catholic doctrine, Marian theology, and the history of the Holy House.
• Fluency in one or more major languages (English, Italian, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Polish).
• Warm, pastoral communication style suitable for sacred settings.
• Confidence in leading faith-based discussions and reflections.
• Compliance with local tour guide licence requirements (if applicable).

Desirable Qualifications

• Degree or background in Theology, Religious Studies, or Ministry.
• Experience leading Catholic pilgrimages, retreats, or heritage tours.
• Familiarity with Loreto’s Basilica, local traditions, and Marian devotion.
