We are looking for a new colleague with admin experience and who is driven to provide top customer service at all times.
About the Role
Based at our Whangarei branch, the Freight Office and Claims Assistant is a varied role, responsible for the timely handling of damaged, repacked and missorted parcels. You’ll work closely with courier drivers and our Operations team to ensure our customers’ freight is delivered to where it needs to be. With people at the heart of our success, you’ll enjoy the diversity of our team and our customers.
Based at our Whangarei branch, the Freight Office and Claims Assistant is a varied role, responsible for the timely handling of damaged, repacked and missorted parcels. You’ll work closely with courier drivers and our Operations team to ensure our customers’ freight is delivered to where it needs to be. With people at the heart of our success, you’ll enjoy the diversity of our team and our customers.
This is a permanent full time position, working 40 hours per week with rostered Saturdays.
Key duties include:
- Ensure all claims are processed efficiently and in a timely manner
- Resolving customers’ parcel queries with a focus on problem-solving
- Contacting customers regarding their undeliverable freight
- Communicating with the wider team and Head Office to provide regular updates regarding progress
- Work closely with the Branch Supervisor to ensure the Freight office and claims are managed effectively

- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to perform under pressure
- Ability to lift up to 25kg – comfortable with repetitive lifting
- Customer service or freight industry experience
- A willingness to go the extra mile for our customers
