Front Desk / Medical Assistant

Job Summary
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Front Desk / Medical Assistant, where you will be the welcoming face of our clinic and a vital contributor to patient care. Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and efficiently check them in using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems while verifying insurance and personal information
  • Collect and document vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to support accurate patient assessments
  • Assist healthcare providers with clinical procedures including medication administration, specimen collection, and basic X-ray operations in compliance with safety protocols
  • Support patient care by understanding physiology and anatomy fundamentals to facilitate effective communication and treatment processes
  • Manage appointment scheduling, follow-up calls, and patient inquiries to enhance overall patient service experience
  • Perform intake assessments by gathering comprehensive medical histories and updating electronic records with ICD coding for diagnoses
  • Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control standards in outpatient or inpatient settings such as Geriatrics or PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit)

Experience

  • Previous clinic or hospital experience in dermatology, urgent care, emergency medicine, or medical-surgical units is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and medical terminology is essential for efficient documentation and communication
  • Experience working within Level I or Level II trauma centers or Level III trauma environments adds valuable insight into fast-paced medical settings
  • Knowledge of inpatient procedures including ICU (Intensive Care Unit), Geriatrics care, or internal medicine enhances your ability to support diverse patient needs
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as X-ray operation or medication administration are a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to handle intake processes, vital signs collection, ICD coding, and emergency response procedures confidently
