Front Desk Receptionist

Employment Status: Non-Exempt | Full-Time
Location: On-site, NY

Position Summary

The Front Desk Receptionist is responsible for front-office operations in a high-volume orthopedic and spine practice. This role requires consistent professionalism, accuracy, and adherence to established procedures. We are seeking a professional, detail-oriented Front Desk Receptionist to join a busy orthopedic, spine surgery, and pain management practice. This role is the first point of contact for patients and plays a critical role in patient experience, clinic flow, and front-end accuracy.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients professionally in person and by phone
  • Schedule and confirm appointments across multiple providers
  • Verify insurance eligibility and obtain referrals/authorizations
  • Maintain accurate patient demographics and EMR documentation
  • Collect copays and outstanding balances per office policy
  • Communicate clearly with patients, providers, and internal teams
  • Maintain strict HIPAA compliance
  • Accurate EMR(Advanced MD) documentation
  • Copay collection and front-end financial compliance
  • HIPAA-compliant handling of protected health information

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of medical office experience
  • EMR proficiency(Advanced MD)
  • Ability to perform duties with accuracy and consistency
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality
  • Spanish knowledge is a plus but not required

  • Adherence to dress code, conduct standards, and SOPs
  • Ability to accept supervision, feedback, and corrective action

  • Compliance with NY labor laws, HIPAA, and practice policies

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $26.00 per hour

Education:

  • Associate (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Customer Service: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Computer Skills: 2 years (Preferred)

Language:

  • Spanish (Preferred)

Work Location: In person
