Full Time Hotel Night Porter

Main Purpose of the Job:

A world away from the daily hustle and bustle, the night porter is all about taking control of the hotel when the day comes to an end. As a Night porter, you are responsible for all aspects of the hotel during the night shift. A need to understand and respond to guest needs and requests, whilst ensuring all night duties are completed successfully. A motivated, responsible individual who can work well on their own initiative and who we can trust with the efficient operation of the hotel during the night.

Tasks/Accountabilities:

• Live to and embody the values of the Kilmurry Lodge Hotel.
• To ensure that all Night duties are carried out efficiently
• To be fully aware of the hotel facilities, activities, targets and promotions, special activities within the hotel
• Setting up, clearing down and cleaning of the relevant areas across the hotel
• Ensure guests receive a high level of Customer Service to meet the hotel’s standards of quality and service to our guests in accordance with statutory, health and safety requirements.
• Welcoming late arriving guests and assist with check in process
• Handling early guest checkouts, including processing payment and providing invoices and taking payments
• To deal with customer complaints in a professional and courteous manner in accordance with company procedures.
• Assist in the smooth running of the hotel each night.
• Report all maintenance issues.
• Solving minor maintenance issues.
• Carry outfire walks and complete fire register.
• Ensure the building is totally secure with the required number of security checks being carried-out each night. All fire exits are checked, unnecessary equipment turned off and lights dimmed.
• Carry pager/walkie-talkie/door bell.
• Deal with floats & key issues.
• Act as Fire Marshall on duty.
• Response to any emergency situations such as fire alarms, medical incidents and follow procedures for same.
• Ensure goods entrances are secure, at all times.
• Ensure that all cleaning duties are completed as per SOP.
• Performing night audits and reconcile of financial transactions, including room charges and cash handling.
• Ensure that handovers with front office staff are focused on at start and end of each shift.
• To work as part of a team, being aware of colleagues and their needs and being always flexible.
• Ensure that all duties outlined to you are completed each night.
