Full-Time Yard Forklift Operator - Hardscape, Landscape, and Block Retail

We are seeking a dedicated, full-time Yard Forklift Operator to manage our outdoor inventory and provide exceptional service to our retail and contractor customers. This is a year-round position responsible for the safe movement of heavy concrete products, natural stone, and bulk landscaping materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Material Handling & Loading: Safely operate sit-down forklifts and front-end loaders to transport palletized pavers, retaining wall blocks, and bulk stone.
• Customer Interaction: Assist walk-in customers with material selection and professional loading into personal vehicles or trailers.
• Shipping & Receiving: Unload vendor tractor-trailers and accurately pick/load orders for our delivery fleet, cross-checking all paperwork for accuracy.
• Inventory Control: Perform regular cycle counts and stock rotations (FIFO) to ensure inventory accuracy and minimize waste from damaged goods.
• Daily Maintenance: Conduct OSHA-required pre-shift inspections and perform minor maintenance such as washing, greasing, and checking fluid levels.
• Yard Stewardship: Maintain a clean, organized, and debris-free yard. Assist with seasonal tasks, including snow removal and shoveling cubes during winter.

Qualifications

• Certification: Valid OSHA-compliant forklift certification required.
• Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a fast-paced yard or construction environment preferred.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50–100 lbs regularly and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Availability: Must be able to work a consistent 40-hour weekly schedule, typically Monday–Friday with Saturday shifts during peak season.

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly Rate: $18.00 - $20.00 to start (DOE).
