General Accountant

The General Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely reporting, and supporting the organization’s multi-entity operations. This role involves preparing journal entries, financial statements, and management reports, while coordinating with various departments and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely journal entries, ledgers, and financial statements for assigned entities.
  • Handle monthly closing and reconciliation of accounts, including intercompany transactions.
  • Maintain and update the chart of accounts across entities, ensuring consistency for consolidation.
  • Ensure proper and complete recording of revenues and expenses by entity, business unit, and project.
  • Monitor and report on Accounts Receivable, Unearned Revenue, and Inventory.
  • Prepare monthly Profit and Loss (P&L) reports by entity and consolidated.
  • Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and management reports to support decision-making.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory agencies.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by recommending enhancements in accounting processes, controls, and reporting formats.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve sales targets and increase market penetration.
  • Identify and reach out to potential customers to promote products.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to potential customers, showcasing the benefits and features of the products.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and influencers in the target market.
  • Provide accurate and up-to-date product information to customers, answering inquiries and addressing concerns. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns.
  • Attend conferences, trade shows, and other industry events to network and generate leads.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for business growth. Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and budgets for management review.
  • Provide training and support to customers on the proper use and maintenance of products.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA license preferred but not required (experienced non-CPAs are welcome).
  • At least 1–2 years of accounting experience preferred; fresh graduates may also be considered.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of accounting software is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willing to work full-time in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
