General Operative

We are currently seeking a hardworking and dependable General Operative (Picker) to join our team in Dublin. This role is vital to ensuring the efficient sorting of recyclable materials and maintaining the overall flow of operations within the facility.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Sort and separate recyclable materials from conveyor belts or sorting stations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to quality standards.
• Identify and remove contaminants or non-recyclable items from the waste stream.
• Assist with the efficient flow of materials through the facility, supporting the operation of balers and other machinery.
• Perform general housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe, clean, and organised workspace.
• Support team members with tasks such as staging materials, clearing jams, or loading/unloading equipment.
• Monitor sorting equipment and conveyors, reporting any issues to supervisors promptly.
• Adhere to all health and safety policies, wearing proper PPE and following site protocols.
• Collaborate with colleagues to meet production targets and contribute to the facility's overall efficiency.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous experience in a recycling, production, or warehouse environment is advantageous but not required.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving materials as required.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work shifts in order to meet operational need.
