General Operative

Associated Rewinds Ltd is a leader in the repair and refurbishment of industrial and traction motors in Ireland. We are looking for a practical, hands-on General Operative to join our team. This role will suit someone with a mechanical mindset who enjoys working with tools, machinery, and precision tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate workshop machinery safely and efficiently (grinders, drills, presses, etc.).
• Support themotor rewinding process, including tasks such as coil insulation and spreading.
• Assist in mechanical assembly, component preparation, and light fabrication.
• Handle raw materials and finished parts, ensuring correct storage and movement within the workshop.
• Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and safety standards in the work area.
• Assist with general workshop duties such as material handling & tool care and equipment maintenance.

Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience in a workshop environment is an advantage.
• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tools, machinery, and basic mechanical repair.
• Ability to follow instructions, technical notes, or simple diagrams.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Physically fit and comfortable with lifting, standing, and active workshop duties.
• Practical problem-solving skills.

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5pm.

Overtime available from 6 a.m. to 8.30 a.m. paid at double hourly rate, from 5p.m. to 7p.m. paid at time and a half hourly rate. Saturday overtime paid 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at time and a half hourly rate.
