ABOUT THE ROLE
This short-term opportunity with Ventia’s Energy Networks and Renewables team in Christchurch is ideal for a recent electrical engineering graduate seeking practical experience in the infrastructure sector. You’ll support the delivery of energy and renewables projects through a mix of office-based and on-site responsibilities, including project coordination, stakeholder engagement, site planning, and documentation.
Working alongside experienced engineers and project managers, you’ll gain exposure to real-world engineering challenges and receive structured training, supervision, and mentorship. This hands-on role will help you build technical and professional skills while contributing meaningfully to project outcomes.
For the right candidate, this role may lead to a permanent position within Ventia, offering a pathway to a long-term career in the energy and renewables industry.
ABOUT YOU
You’re a recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (e.g., BE (Hons)), ready to apply your academic learning in a dynamic, real-world environment.
You’re curious, proactive, and eager to grow your capabilities in project delivery, site coordination, and stakeholder communication.
You’re adaptable and comfortable working both on-site and in the office, with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork. While previous industry experience or internships are a bonus, your enthusiasm, willingness to learn, and collaborative mindset are what will set you apart.
This role is a great fit for someone looking to build a strong foundation in electrical engineering and explore long-term opportunities within the infrastructure and energy sectors.
