Head Kitchen Porter

We are currently looking for a dedicated and highly organised Head Kitchen Porter to lead our team of kitchen porters. You will ensure the smooth running and cleanliness of all kitchen operations. Working across multiple kitchens, you will be instrumental in motivating your team to deliver consistent back-of-house cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene standards.

The Tower Hotel is Waterford's premier 4-star city centre hotel and is superbly located overlooking the Marina and Reginald's Tower. The hotel is just a 3-minute stroll from the city's shopping and entertainment hot spots, and the premier business district.'

About You:

• Previous experience in a kitchen porter role, ideally in a supervisory capacity.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a team across multiple kitchens.
• Good understanding of hygiene, health & safety procedures.
• A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to lead by example.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

The Role:

• Lead, supervise, and support the team of kitchen porters across all hotel kitchen outlets.
• Ensure all kitchens are maintained to the highest hygiene and cleanliness standards at all times.
• Oversee the washing and sanitising of all kitchen equipment, crockery, utensils, and work surfaces.
• Maintain cleaning schedules and ensure compliance with health & safety and food safety regulations.
• Coordinate porter staffing and rota management to meet the demands of each kitchen.
• Assist with deliveries, stock rotation, and storage of goods.
• Report equipment issues and maintenance needs promptly.
• Train new kitchen porters and ensure team members are following procedures and protocols consistently
