Your New Role

We are now looking for a Head of Accounting to join our client’s team in Gothenburg!

In this strategic leadership position, you will oversee financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls, while playing a key role in driving the company’s growth through insightful financial management. Your expertise will ensure integrity, transparency, and accuracy in financial operations, while your leadership will inspire a high-performing team culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Deliver accurate, timely, and compliant financial statements (GAAP/IFRS).
• Internal Controls: Strengthen and maintain robust control systems to ensure data integrity.
• Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering accountability and performance excellence.
• Audit Management: Act as the main point of contact for external auditors, ensuring efficient processes.
• Budget & Forecasting: Collaborate with business stakeholders to align financial planning with strategic goals.
• Risk Management: Identify, evaluate, and mitigate financial and operational risks.
• Process Optimization: Drive continuous improvements, implementing structured and efficient ways of working.
• Shared Services Collaboration: Partner with the Shared Services Centre to enhance quality and efficiency.
• Performance Metrics: Define and monitor KPIs to continuously elevate the function’s impact.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred).
• Minimum 8 years in accounting, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Extensive experience in accounting and financial management, including AR, AP, Treasury, Tax, Group Reporting, and Consolidation.
• Proven track record in multinational companies, with at least Europe-wide exposure.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and professional accounting standards.
• Experience collaborating with Shared Services Centers.
• Proficiency in SAP, MS Office and financial systems and tools.
