Your responsibilities and tasks:

Overview:

As the Head of Accounting, Tax, and Reporting for GEA France & Maghreb, you will lead the accounting operations, ensure tax compliance, and manage financial reporting across multiple entities within the region. This key leadership role requires a detail-oriented individual with extensive knowledge of accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls. The successful candidate will be adept at navigating complex, project-related business environments and interacting effectively with various internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounting Leadership: Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger, auxiliary accounting (trade receivables and payables), and cash collection processes.
  • Tax Compliance and Strategy: Manage all aspects of tax compliance for both local and international regulations, including tax declarations and project-related taxation issues.
  • Financial Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate month-end closing processes, statutory accounting, and preparation of local GAAP annual reports.
  • Internal Controls and Compliance: Develop and maintain robust internal controls to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards. Coordinate with legal and corporate legal departments to align financial and legal compliance.
  • Stakeholder Interaction: Serve as the primary financial contact for group interactions, auditors, and outsourced business partners.
  • Team Management: Lead and develop the accounting team, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

Your profile and qualifications:

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced Accounting Knowledge: Expertise in managing full-cycle accounting, tax operations, and financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with ERP Systems: Proficiency in using major ERP software for financial management and reporting (IMAX6 and SAP)
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of local and international tax laws and accounting standards.

Leadership Skills:

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop tax strategies and accounting policies that align with the organization’s goals.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organizational skills.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with different departments and external partners.
  • Problem Solving: Excellent analytical abilities to solve complex accounting and tax issues.

Qualifications:

  • Professional accounting qualification is essential
  • At least 10 years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably in a multi-entity, international environment.
  • Experience in POC accounting method (percentage of completion method)

Reporting:

This position reports directly to the CFO of the France & Maghreb region.
