Job Overview

Delighted to partner with this leading FMCG / Distribution business in the search for a H&S Manager at their Newly built, state of the art Distribution centre in North Dublin.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive consistent high standards by assuring compliance with policies, regulations, guidelines and procedures required by customers and relevant authorities regarding Health & Safety.
• Chairing H&S committee and organise meetings as required, ensuring full participation and attendance.
• Site accident & near miss investigation, including the collation of reports and systematic filing and overseeing root cause analysis, corrective actions and follow up where needed.
• Staff assessment on return to work with changes to normal duties
• Accident and Dangerous Occurrence Reporting with HSA
• Ensure that all chemicals are stored and used as recommended by the manufacturer and in line with site risk assessments.
• Maintain, and ensure implementation of the Health & Safety System.
• Responsible for ensuring H&S training is sufficient and completed – First Aid, Manual Handling and other as appropriate, working closely with department heads to deliver.
• Ensure site activities are carried out in compliance with current legislation and company health and policy and its support documents.
• Regularly review and update Risk Assessments, Standard Operating Procedures, and Safety Statements, communicating any updates to teams.
• Implementing a program of Internal Audits on the Health & Safety Management System

Experience and qualifications:

• Circa 3+ years’ experience, ideally in a similar sector
• Should be familiar with ISO Certifications and successful attainment of same.
• Support and develop the Company’s H&S systems and encouraging a culture of excellence and compliance.
• Be knowledgeable with all aspects of the H&S standards, relevant legislation and compliance requirements.
