Heavy Equipment Operator

Overview
We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of heavy equipment, including excavators, skid steers, front end loaders, and compactors. work is primarily lot development, earth work relating to new home builds, and septic system instalation. This role requires mechanical knowledge and the ability to safely and efficiently operate equipment on primarily new residential builds. The Equipment Operator will play a vital role in ensuring project progress through precise operation of machinery and adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, skid steers, front end loaders, and compactors with precision and safety.
• Ability to work independently.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal functioning.
• Assist in site preparation, grading, excavation, and material handling tasks.
• Follow all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate equipment usage and project timelines.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment operation and maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues when necessary or report problems to maintenance personnel promptly.

Requirements

• Proven experience operating heavy machinery including excavators, skid steers, front end loaders, and compactors.
• Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting is a asset.
• Valid drivers license required, work truck provided to and from site. AZ/DZ licence and willingness to drive dump truck on occasion is a asset
• Experience in residential construction, and knowledge of relevant building codes and utility locates is desirable
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, assist other related tasks, and lift up to 50 pounds when necessary.
• Strong attention to safety procedures and protocols.

Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal

Pay: From $33.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
