Job Overview:
We are seeking a Front Office Receptionist to join our friendly and professional team at our 36-bedroom 4-star hotel in South West Kerry. The ideal candidate will have a warm, friendly personality, a passion for providing exceptional customer service, and ideally some previous hotel experience. As a Front Office Receptionist, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests, ensuring efficient front desk operations, and delivering the best possible experience for every guest.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guest Check-In & Check-Out:
- Efficiently check guests in and out of the hotel, ensuring a smooth and seamless experience.
- Provide guests with all necessary information about the hotel’s facilities, services, and local attractions.
- Handle any special requests or requirements guests may have, ensuring satisfaction during their stay.
- Reservations Management:
- Take phone, email, and online reservations, ensuring all bookings are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Monitor room availability and manage guest inquiries in a timely manner.
- Assist in maximizing room occupancy and promoting hotel packages or offers.
- Guest Enquiries & Assistance:
- Respond to guest inquiries, providing helpful information and addressing any concerns promptly.
- Assist guests with general requests, such as directions, restaurant bookings, or local recommendations.
- Cash Handling & Billing:
- Accurately process payments and handle cash, credit card, and billing transactions according to hotel procedures.
- Ensure all charges are correctly applied to guest accounts and resolve any billing issues as needed.
- Teamwork & Collaboration:
- Work closely with other hotel departments, including housekeeping and management, to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Support the front office team by maintaining a positive and collaborative working environment.
- Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate guest records, including check-in/check-out details and payment information.
- Assist in ensuring the front desk area is tidy, organized, and welcoming to guests.
- Training & Development:
- Participate in ongoing training to improve knowledge of hotel systems, guest service skills, and operational procedures.
Key Skills & Requirements:
- Previous experience in a hotel or customer service environment is preferred but not essential.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently and professionally with guests and team members.
- A warm and friendly personality, with a passion for delivering excellent customer service.
- Ability to handle guest requests and concerns with a solution-oriented approach.
- Basic knowledge of cash handling and financial transactions.
- A team player with a collaborative attitude.
- Proficient in using hotel management software (experience with systems such as Opera, RMS, or similar is desirable).
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a 4-star hotel or similar hospitality setting.
- A background in customer service, particularly in a front desk or receptionist role.
- Familiarity with local attractions and services in South West Kerry.
- Knowledge of additional languages is a bonus.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Fixed term
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: €12.70-€14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
