Position Summary
The Housekeeper works under the direction of the Environmental Services Manager to maintain the facility, resident rooms, and common areas in a clean, welcoming, and homelike condition. This role is essential to promoting health, safety, and comfort for residents, staff, and visitors. In addition to housekeeping duties, this position also performs laundry services to ensure residents receive clean linens and personal items in a timely and organized manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain resident rooms, bathrooms, and all common areas in accordance with facility policies and procedures
- Perform routine floor care, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and spot cleaning
- Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces to promote a safe and hygienic environment
- Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute resident laundry and facility linens
- Ensure laundry is handled according to infection control and safety guidelines
- Remove trash and replace liners in all designated areas
- Maintain cleaning and laundry equipment; promptly report maintenance needs to the Environmental Services Manager
- Follow safety guidelines, infection control protocols, and facility standards
- Maintain a professional, respectful, and resident-centered approach when interacting with residents, families, and staff
Requirements
Successful completion of:
- Background Screening (reference check and drug testing)
- Fingerprint Clearance Card
- TB Clearance
- Employee Health Screening (conducted after hire)
Additional requirements:
- Ability to move, lift, and transfer up to 50 pounds
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
