Environmental and Common Area Cleaning:
Common Area Cleaning: Execute daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning schedules for all common spaces, including offices, dining rooms, hallways, elevators, exercise rooms/therapy rooms, and all other areas where people frequently gather.
Incident Sanitation: Responsible for the sanitization and cleaning of floors, chairs, elevators, and other equipment or surfaces soiled by resident accidents (e.g., fecal matter, urine) or spills (e.g., coffee). This role does not include direct personal care of residents.
Scheduled Cleaning: Execute daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning schedules for all assigned areas, including resident rooms, dining rooms, and staff breakrooms.
Floor Care: Perform proper floor care (mopping, vacuuming, and carpet care) and use wet floor signs appropriately.
Safety, Compliance and Training:
Infection Control & Sanitization: Strictly follow all infection control procedures. Use proper sanitization methods, including wearing gloves and changing gloves before entering a resident’s room after cleaning another area.
Dress Code: Adhere to the departmental dress code at all times.
Training Attendance: Attend all required in-service trainings on the proper use of cleaning chemicals, infection control, and emergency procedures.
Chemical Use: Demonstrate knowledge of identifying appropriate cleaning chemicals, making proper dilutions, utilizing appropriate PPE, and knowing the location of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
Dwell Time: Allow chemicals to sit and/or dry for the time referenced on the chemical instruction sheet.
Regulatory Compliance: Follow all HIPAA requirements.
Equipment and Supplies: Maintain all cleaning equipment and properly stock and manage the housekeeping cart, reporting supply usage to the Supervisor.
Qualifications:
Communication Skills: Must have basic English reading, writing, and communication skills to read labels and schedules, document tasks, and effectively communicate with residents and staff.
Experience: Prior housekeeping experience in a healthcare or hospitality setting is preferred.
Physical Requirements: Must have the physical capability to perform essential job functions, including standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive motions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
