The HR Business Partner (HRBP) acts as a trusted advisor to managers, providing expert HR guidance with a strong focus on employee and industrial relations. The role is responsible for managing complex people matters, supporting management capability, and ensuring consistent, fair, and legally compliant people practices across the organisation.
The HRBP will also contribute to building management capability through coaching and training, while working collaboratively with the wider HR team and the People & Development function.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations & Industrial Relations
- Act as the lead advisor on all employee and industrial relations matters
- Manage disciplinary, grievance, capability and investigation processes end-to-end
- Handle complex and high-risk cases independently, ensuring fair and consistent outcomes
- Support and coach managers to confidently manage employee issues
- Monitor ER trends and recommend proactive interventions
Manager Support & HR Advisory
- Provide practical, solutions-focused HR advice to managers on a range of people matters
- Support managers in areas such as performance management, absence and conduct
- Build management capability through coaching and ongoing support
Policy, Compliance & Best Practice
- Support the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
- Ensure consistent application of policies across the organisation
- Keep up to date with employment legislation and provide guidance to managers
Training & Development Contribution
- Deliver training sessions to managers on HR policies, procedures and people management practices
- Work with the People & Development function to identify trends and development needs
- Contribute to management development initiatives
Contracts & HR Governance
- Oversee contracts of employment and provide guidance on terms, conditions and amendments
- Support consistency and compliance in contractual documentation
Reporting & HR Insights
- Contribute to HR reporting, including analysis of ER trends, absence and employee data
- Work collaboratively with the HR & People Specialist to develop accurate and meaningful HR metrics
- Provide regular updates to the HR Manager
Operational Support
- Undertake day-to-day HR activities where appropriate, particularly in complex or sensitive situations
- Work closely with the HR & People Specialist to ensure effective delivery of HR services
Key Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 4–5 years experience in a HR role, with a significant portion operating at a senior generalist or HR Business Partner level
- Proven experience managing a broad range of employee relations and industrial relations cases independently, including disciplinary, grievance and investigations
- Strong working knowledge of Irish employment legislation and its practical application in the workplace
- Demonstrated ability to advise, influence and challenge managers in a confident and professional manner
- Experience delivering practical, solutions-focused HR support in a fast-paced or operational environment
- Excellent communication and management skills
- Experience contributing to HR policy development and implementation
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Pay: €45,000.00-€60,000.00 per year
