ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct billing and accounts receivable functions in accordance with local, state, and federal rules and guidelines.
- Ensure policy and procedure compliance.
- Oversee census processing, payroll, and accounts payable functions.
- Meet established deadlines: daily, weekly, and monthly.
- Manages business office-related administrative staff.
- Directs processing of accounts receivable, adjustments and refunds, private and 3rd party payors, census information, ancillaries, cash deposits, and posting.
- Manages resident trust funds.
- Maintains confidentiality of resident financial information.
- Meets with new admissions – residents and/or family members to explain financial obligations and documentation.
- Audits new admission files to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Maintains private spend worksheets and Medicaid pending tracking.
- Manages all month-end processes – completion of data entry, review and correction of edits, and census reconciliation.
- Manages accounts receivable collections for past due accounts.
- Ensures timely filing of Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance claims
- Prepares for and attends all A/R review meetings and is knowledgeable of all collection activities.
- Creates A/R reports as directed.
- Work with consultants, corporate office personnel, and third parties as needed.
- Conducts all other business office-related tasks as assigned by the Administrator.

Qualifications:
- Three (3+) years’ experience in third party billing and collections in a decentralized billing environment required.
- One (1+) years Business Office, Accounts Payable, and/or Medical Billing and Collections experience in a Long-Term Care required.
- Medicaid Billing experience in the state of service preferred.
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Windows and office products and other online programs and applications.
