Position Summary

The Human Resources Manager leads and executes human resources strategies that support Twin Disc’s manufacturing operations while fostering a safe, compliant, and high‑performance workplace. This role partners closely with plant and operations leadership to align HR, safety, and environmental initiatives with business objectives.

Serving as a trusted advisor to both leadership and employees, the Human Resources Manager ensures policies, practices, and culture reflect Twin Disc’s values, commitment to safety, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources Leadership

  • Lead and support full‑cycle HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Partner with manufacturing leadership on workforce planning, organizational development, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Implement and ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Coach and advise supervisors and managers on HR best practices and effective people management.

Employee Relations

  • Promote positive employee relations by addressing concerns promptly and fairly, conducting investigations, and recommending appropriate corrective action.
  • Ensure consistent application of policies and progressive discipline across the manufacturing workforce.
  • Advocate for employee wellbeing and a respectful, inclusive work environment.

Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) Responsibilities

  • Act as a key partner in promoting and sustaining a strong safety‑first culture in manufacturing operations.
  • Collaborate with plant leadership and operations supervisors to develop, implement, and improve workplace health and safety programs.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, workers’ compensation requirements, and internal safety standards.
  • Oversee workers’ compensation claims, return‑to‑work programs, and injury trend analysis.
  • Participate in safety audits, incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
  • Support safety training programs, including new‑hire orientation and ongoing employee education.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report safety metrics to support continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with environmental consultants to ensure environmental compliance, permitting, and regulatory reporting.

Talent Acquisition & Development

  • Partner with leadership and HR peers to recruit, hire, and onboard hourly and salaried manufacturing and professional talent.
  • Identify training and development needs and support skills‑based training initiatives.
  • Support succession planning, leadership development, and performance management processes.

Compliance & HR Administration

  • Ensure HR practices comply with applicable labor laws and internal standards.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, HR metrics, and required reports.
  • Support audits, regulatory inspections, and internal compliance reviews.
  • Leverage HR systems and data to drive informed decision‑making and continuous improvement.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting workplace safety programs and OSHA compliance.

Preferred

  • Professional HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP, or SHRM‑SCP).
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement or Lean manufacturing principles.

Work Environment

  • Regular on‑site presence in a manufacturing plant environment with exposure to production areas.
  • Occasional off‑shift or weekend work may be required to support operations, safety events, or investigations.
