We are seeking a skilled Electrician to join our team, supporting the delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The role involves installation, maintenance, testing, and commissioning of electrical and MEICA systems, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and performance.
Responsibilities:
Perform preventative maintenance, fault finding, testing, and repair of electrical systems across various sites.
Install and commission electrical systems, including pumps, motors, VSDs (Variable Speed Drives), and control panels.
Carry out small-scale electrical installations and upgrades within treatment plants.
Install, configure, and calibrate instrumentation and control equipment.
Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation accurately.
Prepare material take-offs and assist in planning installation activities.
Diagnose faults and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
Support and mentor apprentices and junior team members.
Supervise subcontractors and coordinate with project teams to ensure smooth delivery.
Assist with preparation and execution of commissioning and testing procedures.
Conduct MCC energisation, motor rotation checks, and I/O testing.
Perform field calibration of instruments and integrate signals with PLC systems.
Ensure all MEICA works meet quality standards and assist in resolving any defects.
Complete all commissioning documentation, including inspection reports and test records.
Carry out pre-installation checks and produce snag lists where required.
Work closely with engineers to optimise system performance.
Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
Maintain accurate records of work completed and report progress to management.
Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
Complete all required safety and site documentation.
Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Requirements:
Qualified Electrician with recognised certification (FETAC, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
Post-apprenticeship experience in industrial or construction environments
Experience with MEICA systems and commissioning is highly desirable
Knowledge of water/wastewater systems is an advantage
Ability to read electrical drawings and P&ID diagrams
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Good communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
Full clean Irish/EU driving licence
Valid Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification
Pay: €20.68-€40.50 per hour
Work Location: In person
