We are currently seeking a Junior Bookkeeper / Tax Professional to join our team in Bedford, NS.
Position Overview
This is an entry to junior-level position ideal for candidates looking to build experience in bookkeeping, payroll, and tax preparation within a professional business services environment. The successful candidate will support senior staff in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing tax filings, and assisting clients with day-to-day accounting needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including data entry and account reconciliation
- Maintain accurate financial records for multiple clients
- Assist with full-cycle bookkeeping
- Support payroll processing and remittances
- Assist with GST/HST filings and compliance
- Assist in preparation of personal (T1) and corporate (T2) tax returns
- Organize financial documents and maintain client files
- Communicate with clients to request information and clarify transactions
- Assist with CRA correspondence and administrative tax matters
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred
- Canadian bookkeeping or accounting experience preferred
- Basic understanding of Canadian accounting and tax principles
- Experience with accounting and tax software considered an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
Assets (Preferred but Not Required)
- Experience with payroll processing
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
- Experience preparing personal tax returns (T1)
- Interest in pursuing accounting or tax certifications

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.50-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
